Why rethinking the economy starts in the city

Using some examples of circular economy implemented in cities, Julia gives a clear definition of “what is circular economy” and how to apply the concept of circularity to make the world a better place for us and our children. Julia has been working at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation for the past year and a half and is currently managing the Circular Cities Network. She is also responsible for a portfolio of projects in the field of policy making, material innovation in the circular economy and the elimination of plastics waste. Previously to her work at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Julia has managed Worldwatch Institute Europe’s circular economy initiative, and worked in the field of sustainability consulting and education. She speaks Danish, Russian, Hebrew, English and a little bit of Icelandic. After work Julia enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, photography and running around with her dog, Yasha.
